Home from hospital today
Had my macroscopic lymph node remove yesterday, since I was unconscious the whole time I don't remember much but when I woke up in recovery I felt very nausea's and my mid section hurt. Started pre procedures about 9:30 with some very nice drug that made life very nice. Next pump into the IV and I was out till I awoke in recovery with my mom and dad there about 4 hours later. Moraphine is very very good. Laid around for a few hours and got some more pain meds, had some sprite and tried to urinate, you know how they are in the hospitals are about that. I just couldnt go, was drinking alot and had IV going but not flow. Dr. came by later and increased IV had me walk to washroom and finally got some to squirt, "oh happy day". That was thursday went home friday afternoon and just laid around. Nurse wo let me out recommended tylenol 325mgs every few hours. My dad called the hospital and said moraphine last night and today asprin??? They gave me a script for some hydrochdone. Finally some relief. Get to see onocologist on Friday and learn of my chemo schedule, cant wait. My father loves me.

Hello Mitchell,
I am your Dad's boss and I just wanted to let you know we are all thinking of you and praying for a speedy recovery! You sound like a mighty brave and strong young man and I know you will beat this disease! Take care of yourself and keep blogging - writing about it will allow you to express your feelings. Dear Mitchell
My name is Steve Anderson. I work with your Dad. I admire and respect him so I imagine you are a pretty special young man, because Jim is a pretty special guy. I was sorry to hear that you are facing this battle. You may need the help of friends and family and the strength they bring, to overcome it. I want you to know I am on your side. If you need anything at all, you let me know, and I may just be able to get it for you. (no motorcars though) Don't be scared to ask. I have a 17 year daughter named Emily, she is never scared to ask. (I have no son, and I tell you a secret, every Dad secretly wants a son, real bad, in spite of being totally crazy about their daughters. ) So I will send you another message soon, and you write to me whenevr you can. my email is sja891@swbell.net. Hey - if you are going to have spare time to surf the web and such - Do you follow the USA Unmanned Space Program? (It's the one that produces fantastic discoveries, not Buzz Lightyear types) Like have you been watching the progress of the Phoenix Mars Lander, whis is digging into Mars dirt, as I type this? It just landed a couple weeks ago. It is the 1st spacecraft we ever sent to another planet specifically built to look for signs of life, past or present. (!) Watching the landing on the Discovery Channel was amazing. (Yes I am a TOTAL GEEKNERD) Anyway go to JPL.gov or nasa.gov and follow the links to the Phoenix mission pictures, if you are turned on by that kind of thing. That type of stuff, especially the stuff from the Mars Rovers Spirit & Opportunity, just knocks me out, and I never get enough time to look at it on the web. Some of the pictures NASA put on the web are 3-Dimensional. You need a special little pair of glasses to get the 3d effect. Let me know if you need a pair of these, I have a box of them from the Johnson Space Center Here in Houston TX. Thye are almost free. Cardboard and mylar plastic.
Remember to tell me if you need something. Really. Or just write.
Steve A.
